Kicking off with the traditional Pancake Breakfast, the day will include the BYS Fun Run, Car Show, Street Fair, Kid’s Zone, Beer & Wine Garden, Live Music Stage, and of course, the mile-long Hometown Parade.   • Olympic Medical Center Foundation Sonny Sixkiller Celebrity Golf Classic

    The Sequim Health and Rehabilitation team of Michael Littman, Sid Krumpe, Mark Mitrovich, Chris Rose and former Huskies basketball star John Buller beat 39 other teams to win the 11th annual Sonny Sixkiller UW Huskies Celebrity Golf Classic presented by Wilder Auto Center at Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course this weekend. ​ The event held Friday raised a record net $101,000 for the Olympic Medical Center Foundation — the tournament’s beneficiary and the organizer along with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course. ​ Each of the 40 foursomes in the tournament were joined by a Huskies celebrity. Former Huskies quarterback Sonny Sixkiller, who led the nation in passing in 1971, recruited the celebrities, several of whom were Huskies and NFL greats, including Lincoln Kennedy, who went on to a stellar career as an offensive lineman with the Oakland Raiders. ​ Also playing were three former University of Washington stars who graduated from Sequim and Port Angeles High schools. Scott Jones, 1984 Port Angeles graduate, is the only member of the Roughriders to play in the NFL and played in the tournament. Other players included former Roughriders baseball star Matt Lane, who was the starting catcher for the Huskies from 2004-2006, and Sequim High graduate Derrin Doty, who starred for the Huskies baseball team from 1990-1993.

The Silverdale Whaling Days Board of Directors would like to announce that this year’s festival will include a fireworks show. Whaling Days is a family-oriented, non-profit, volunteer-run community festival held in “Old Town” Silverdale. Since 1974, thousands of people have enjoyed the events and entertainment Whaling Days has to offer. Whaling Days gives back to the local community through funds raised to support other non-profit organizations and student scholarships.

Official FTF Cast Members portray the Cullen Coven, Jacob Black, the Volturi, and others featured in the story. There are themed parties, activities at the Forks High School, including a panel discussion with the Saga actors, movie showings and much more.     Olympic Medical Center Foundation, in conjunction with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (formerly Seattle Cancer Care Alliance) will present thae annual Harvest of Hope Wine & Dinner Gala, presented by Sound Community Bank at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30th, at the Guy Cole Event Center in Sequim. ​ The 20th annual gala will once again raise funds for local cancer patients being treated at Olympic Medical Cancer Center through the provision of services, programs and equipment. ​ Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m. Attendees will have an opportunity to help raise funds through the purchase of raffle tickets or live and silent auction items.
