Olympic Medical Center is one of the best rural hospitals in the United States. A comprehensive health care provider with a network of regional facilities including Olympic Medical Cancer Center, Olympic Medical Center relies on the dedication of the many volunteers of the Olympic Medical Center Foundation. THE FOUNDATION HAS: Given over $10.3 million to OMC, with over $7.6 million of that coming since 2007 Provided $3.8 million to cancer care since 2006, with over $515,000 going to OMC's Patient Navigator program, which funds basic cost of living expenses for qualifying cancer patients on the North Olympic Peninsula. Given over $600,000 to the OMC Heart Center.

We are pleased to invite you to the 77th annual Olympic Logging Conference, April 24-26, 2024, at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia. Our timber resource is constantly growing and always changing. Policy, economics, technology, and natural conditions spur innovation that opens new doors while closing others. We hope you can join us in exploring how Opportunities for Innovation are critical to our forest products industry. The conference begins Wednesday afternoon with an optional tour at Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd., followed by Check-in and a Meet and Greet in the Shaughnessy Ballroom Wednesday evening. Thursday will include our keynote presentation by Steve Courtney, providing perspective on industry change and evolution, followed by supporting discussions on workforce, technology, and product innovation. Thursday evening will start with a reception in the Palm Court, followed by dinner, scholarship awards, live auction, and entertainment, all in the Crystal Ballroom. Friday morning will kick-off with What's New in Timber followed by your afternoon outing choice of golfing at Cordova Bay, a tour of the B.C. Forest Discovery Centre, or simply shopping and touring the city of Victoria on your own. Activities will close on Friday evening with a formal dinner and awards. This conference is a success year-to-year thanks to the continued hard work, support, and participation by our sponsors, members, and board of directors. North Olympic Discovery Marathon
|Port Angeles, WA
The North Olympic Discovery Marathon, Marathon Walk, Marathon Relay and Half Marathon take place on a unique point to point course that incorporates the beautiful Olympic Discovery Trail with stunning views of the Olympic Mountains and a five mile finishing stretch along the shores of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The 10K, 5K and Kids Marathon are an out-and-back along the shores of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Frequent sightings of seals, eagles, and an array of shore birds are common from the trail. Iconic trestle bridges provide beautiful back drops. Salmon can be seen spawning at the Morse Creek crossing in the fall. The North Olympic Discovery Marathon is truly one of the most beautiful marathon venues anywhere. This rails to trails course is a wide, hard surface (99% paved) trail. The course is marked at every mile and water stations are located approximately every two miles. Cool June weather can be expected – average high is 65F, average low is 49F, average mean is 57F. The race is organized by the Port Angeles Marathon Association – a group of accomplished amateur athletes. The Marathon is a USATF certified course and a Boston Marathon qualifier.

Hog Wild will continue to include games where attendees can win prizes, but several other performers have been added to the schedule, including five who have performed in Circus or Teatro Zinzanni – the highly popular event in Seattle. It will also feature a showing of the movie Casablanca.

Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival

The Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival is the annual celebration of the region’s diverse bounty – the seafood, the maritime and cultural traditions and the breathtaking coastal environment. The Festival’s featured crustacean, the Dungeness Crab, was named after the village of Dungeness, near Port Angeles, Washington. The Festival is located at the Port Angeles City Pier and the Red Lion Hotel overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, with Victoria, British Columbia just a ferry ride away.
