First Fed Employees Contribute 5,000 Volunteer Hours in 2025
Community commitment goes beyond corporate giving for 103-year old community bank
PORT ANGELES, Wash. – March 24, 2026 – Employees at First Northwest Bancorp (Nasdaq: FNWB) (“First Northwest”) and its wholly owned subsidiary First Fed Bank (“First Fed”) contributed nearly 5,000 volunteer hours to 161 nonprofit organizations in 2025. Over the past five years, First Fed has contributed more than 25,000 volunteer hours to hundreds of organizations across northwestern Washington, primarily in Clallam, Jefferson, Kitsap, King, Mason, Snohomish and Whatcom counties.
“First Fed is a community builder, and when we give time, energy and financial resources, we’re not giving back; we’re looking forward,” said Donya Alward, First Fed’s Vice President of Community Engagement. “For more than 100 years, First Fed’s community strategy has always been to support the vitality and quality of life. Now a few years into our second 100 years, we’re excited to explore how we can contribute even more.”
First Fed empowers all team members to become involved with causes they care about across the communities it serves, supporting them with paid volunteer time each year. In 2025, First Fed volunteers supported organizations across a wide range of causes, including youth sports, education, affordable housing, arts and culture, environmentalism and civic improvements. Volunteers also actively engage in board service for economic development organizations, chambers of commerce and other cause-focused nonprofits, and team members who contribute more than 100 volunteers in a calendar year are formally recognized through First Fed’s Club 100 program.
Key Volunteering Highlights in 2025
- Nearly 5,000 total volunteer hours (4,832 actual hours)
- 161 nonprofit organizations supported across seven counties
- 34 nonprofits across western Washington have a First Fed team member serving on their board of directors or equivalent
- 18 First Fed employees reached the Club 100 milestone of 100 or more volunteer hours
